Mainly dry evening, with thickening cloud. A band of rain, with some heavier bursts, then moves southwards shortly after midnight, clearing all except the far southeast by dawn. Clear intervals following. Winds also strengthening a little overnight. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Monday:

Sunny spells, with brisk winds. Most parts dry, although isolated showers are possible, most likely across Kent, where they could be heavy at times. Feeling colder than recent days. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Sunny spells and showers, locally heavy, on Tuesday. Cool and windy. Chance of some rain on Wednesday, although some uncertainty. Sunshine and showers on Thursday, possibly heavy and thundery.

A large area of rain is likely to start in the west early on Friday, then spread eastwards to affect all areas by evening. Clearer weather is expected to follow, albeit with fresh winds and showers at times. Strong winds or gales are possible in the north. The unsettled regime is then expected to continue dominating the UK weather. Showers or longer periods of rain are likely for most parts of the country, with the highest rainfall expected in the west and northwest. Winds may become strong at times, most likely in the northwest. A shift towards more settled weather could possibly begin at the end of this period. Temperatures rather cold at first, then trending close to average.
