East of England weather forecast

Headline:

Becoming cloudy and breezy with some rain.

Today:

Early brightness giving way to encroaching cloud and some rain from the west, with winds strengthening. While remaining cloudy, rain gradually easing during the afternoon. Rather cool throughout, with this accentuated by the breeze. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Tonight:

Drier overnight, but with plenty of low cloud remaining. Some mist and fog perhaps developing in lasting clearer spells later. Mild. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Wednesday:

Perhaps a fine start, but soon becoming cloudy, with all parts seeing some showery outbreaks of rain arrive from the southwest, perhaps more likely during the afternoon. Mild but breezy. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Generally unsettled with spells of rain possible on all days, but Thursday perhaps brightest. Potential for windy weather in the south on Friday. Relatively mild, but tempered by the wind.

UK long range weather forecast

Cloudy for most with showers on Saturday, possibly merging into longer periods of rain. The best of any brightness is likely to be in the southwest but here too there will likely be showers, perhaps heavy with a risk of thunder. Winds light to moderate, perhaps strong in the far north and around some coasts in the southwest. As we move further into April we are likely to see a gradual trend toward more settled conditions with perhaps the greater chance of drier conditions across the north, albeit with some overnight frost. Further south, there is a higher likelihood of further wet weather at times. Overall, temperatures probably averaging out to be close to normal.

Updated:

Likely a continuation of the trend toward more settled conditions, with rain-bearing weather systems more likely to affect southern areas from time to time. However, most areas are likely to see some spells of dry weather, with potential for frost and some fog overnight, this most likely in the north. A possibility of strong winds at times, with temperatures generally close to average for the time of year.
