Today:

A dry and bright day for most with spells of hazy sunshine, especially in the east. Turning cloudier on the North Cornish coast this afternoon, with patchy rain developing here this evening. Light or gentle southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Tonight:

Cloudy with patchy rain and drizzle mainly affecting Devon and Cornwall. Elsewhere mostly dry, however light winds allow low cloud, patchy mist and fog to form in rural areas. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Monday:

A rather misty start with patchy drizzle lingering in the southwest. Soon brightening up, with plenty of sunny spells arriving for the afternoon. Feeling warm in the sunshine. Maximum temperature 20 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Dry and settled over the coming few days, with high pressure bringing periods of warm sunshine by day, but cooler nights with mist and fog developing in rural parts.

Through the second half of next week, the vast majority of the UK is expected to be fine and dry, with spells of sunshine for most areas during the day. Daytime temperatures will likely be above average for many regions, although some cool nights are possible with mist or fog patches developing overnight. Fairly strong winds could affect the south at times. As we go through the weekend and into the following week, there will be little change from this in the north, but southern areas become more likely to see showers at times, with perhaps some heavy or thundery ones. By late September there is a chance that more unsettled conditions may begin to develop more widely.

Typical Autumn weather will probably affect the UK with a mix of weather types during late September and early October. Periods of wet, unsettled weather will likely be broken up by some spells of more settled, drier weather. Overall, the wettest conditions will probably be in the west with the east drier. Temperatures are most likely to be close to or slightly above average.
