Showers may linger in the far north at first this evening, but generally turning dry and settled. Skies clearing for most bringing a cold night with patchy grass frost inland. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Friday:

An initially cold, crisp morning with frost patches in rural areas, before turning warmer through the day. Plenty of sunny spells, especially in the morning, in a light southwesterly wind. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Dry and settled on Saturday with occasional sunny spells. Cloudy with a band of rain and drizzle affecting the north on Sunday and Monday. Feeling warmer than earlier this week.

Cloud and outbreaks of rain are expected to affect some northern areas for a time on Tuesday, with dry and sunny conditions further south. Through the rest of next week high pressure will become more dominant, with dry and often sunny conditions spreading across the majority of the UK. Winds could be fairly strong at times in the south, with some overnight mist and fog in parts of the north. Temperatures during the day will likely be above average in many areas, although some cold nights are possible in places. A similar pattern will probably persist through the following week, although by late September there is a chance that more unsettled conditions may begin to develop.

Typical Autumn weather will probably affect the UK with a mix of weather types during late September and early October. Periods of wet, unsettled weather will likely be broken up by some spells of more settled, drier weather. Overall, the wettest conditions will probably be in the west with the east drier. Temperatures are most likely to be close to or slightly above average.
