Today:

A dry start to the day with plenty of sunshine and light winds. The sunshine will turn hazier in the afternoon as a veil of high cloud moves in from the south. Feeling warm in the sunshine. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Tonight:

A dry evening at first, but a band of heavy showers will quickly move in from the west. Showers will clear overnight with clear skies in the early hours. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Thursday:

Dry and sunny on Thursday morning. Cloud increasing a little in the afternoon, but still plenty of warm sunny spells. Maximum temperature 20 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Dry at first on Friday, but sunshine and showers in the afternoon. Largely dry and cloudy on Saturday, before a spell of rain moves in on Sunday.

UK long range weather forecast

On Sunday and into the start of next week, southern parts of the UK likely staying mostly fine and dry with light winds. Still a chance of showers, and a low risk that some of these will be heavy at times. Further north it is likely to be cloudier and breezier, particularly around coasts, with showers that could merge into some longer spells of rain. Temperatures close to average, but perhaps below average in the northwest, though it will still feel warm in the sunshine. Towards the end of next week, rain or showers are possible, most likely in the northeast by this stage, where it will be breezy. Drier further southwest with lighter winds. Most areas becoming mainly dry through the end of May.

Into June, temperatures are likely to be above average across the south but closer to average further north. Toward mid-June it may turn less settled across the north of the UK, bringing rain or showers, while the south may remain largely fine.
