Fine, bright and breezy. Cloudier later with the odd shower.

Today:

A fine start with long sunny periods. Cloud gradually building to give an afternoon of sunny intervals with a few isolated showers developing, mainly over western hills. Breezy, especially around the coast. Feeling rather warm in the sunshine. Maximum temperature 22 °C.

Tonight:

Any showers soon fading, with skies this evening largely clear. An area of thicker cloud will arrive in western parts overnight. Winds easing, but remaining blustery by the coast. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Monday:

A band of showers will steadily push east across the region, perhaps merging into longer spells of rain. Drier later with clearing skies as showers become increasingly isolated. Feeling cooler. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Fine and dry Tuesday, before outbreaks of rain arrive from the west late on. Cloudier with scattered showers Wednesday. Similar Thursday, with showers perhaps heavy and thundery at times. Warm.

UK long range weather forecast

Sunny spells for many with a few showers at the end of June and beginning of July, there is a low risk of heavy, and possibly thundery showers associated with these in the south and east of the UK. Winds are expected to be moderate or strong at times, especially in the northwest and near heavy showers. The unsettled conditions are likely to be confined to the north of the country through the later part of the period, perhaps bringing longer spells of rain to these areas. Southern areas likely staying drier, although with the risk of showers remaining. Temperatures are expected to be near normal, locally warm in parts of the east and southeast.

Updated:

There is a good chance of more settled conditions prevailing through the middle and later part of July, although some northern areas may see spells of rain or showers at times, especially early in the period. These spells could extend across the country at times, but in general the south will see the best of the settled conditions. Temperatures are likely to be close to or a little above average initially but trending towards warmer conditions later, especially across the south.
