Friday:

Mostly cloudy, perhaps some brighter periods in the east. Outbreaks of rain and drizzle will spread in from the northwest during the evening, clearing away overnight. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

A chilly start, then dry with sunny spells on Saturday. Becoming cloudy on Sunday, some showers later. Mostly cloudy Monday, some rain at times.

UK long range weather forecast

On Monday the far southwest will probably have a dry day with sunny spells, but elsewhere it will be cloudier with showers. Windy for many, with a risk of gales in the northeast and east. Through much of the rest of the week high pressure is expected to dominate, bringing some fine and dry weather, especially in the east and southeast. However the far northwest will be breezier and cloudier, with occasional outbreaks of rain. During the final days of March and into the start of April the changeable conditions in the northwest are likely to become more widespread. Temperatures often close to normal in the north, but with some warmer periods elsewhere, particularly during the earlier part of this period.

During the first week of April it looks most likely that we will see changeable conditions more widely across the UK. Wet and windy weather may be interspersed with drier and brighter spells, with the most unsettled conditions still probable in the north. By the middle of the month confidence is low, however there is a possibility that we may see a return of more widely settled, drier weather. Some wetter interludes are still likely at times, particularly in the northwest, and with showers perhaps coming up from the south at times. Temperatures overall probably a little warmer than average, but they may fall nearer to normal for a time early in the month.
