Today:

It will be mainly dry and bright, but the odd shower possible at first over western Aberdeenshire. Some sunny spells developing and feeling quite warm, although it will be breezy at times. Maximum temperature 19 °C.

Tonight:

Bright or sunny spells to end the day. Cloud then thickening with showers or some longer spells of rain overnight. Winds fresh to strong at times around the coast. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

Thursday:

A mainly dry and bright day with some warm sunshine developing. However, a few well scattered showers over western hills. Maximum temperature 19 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Bright with scattered showers on Friday, merging into longer spells of rain in the evening. Bright spells and occasional showers on Saturday. Showers, perhaps longer spells of rain on Sunday.

UK long range weather forecast

On Sunday and into the start of next week, southern parts of the UK likely staying mostly fine and dry with light winds. Still a chance of showers, and a low risk that some of these will be heavy at times. Further north it is likely to be cloudier and breezier, particularly around coasts, with showers that could merge into some longer spells of rain. Temperatures close to average, but perhaps below average in the northwest, though it will still feel warm in the sunshine. Towards the end of next week, rain or showers are possible, most likely in the northeast by this stage, where it will be breezy. Drier further southwest with lighter winds. Most areas becoming mainly dry through the end of May.

Into June, temperatures are likely to be above average across the south but closer to average further north. Toward mid-June it may turn less settled across the north of the UK, bringing rain or showers, while the south may remain largely fine.
