A dry start with bright or sunny spells through the morning. Some cloud bubbling up through the afternoon, with the chance of a light shower later across Norfolk. Feeling fresher with temperatures closer to the seasonal average. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:

Dry to start although increasing cloudy overnight with heavy showers from the northwest through the early hours of Monday. Turning windy, particularly at the coasts. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Monday:

A mostly cloudy and damp start to Monday with heavy and blustery showers spreading southeast through the day, although perhaps becoming more scattered later. Turning cooler with temperatures below average. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Remaining changeable with sunny spells and scattered showers, these perhaps turning heavy on Wednesday. Temperatures below average to start, although turning a little milder by Thursday.

Winds from the north or northwest are expected to affect the UK at the start of this period. Some showers or longer spells of rain are likely at times, these heaviest across the north and northwest, though systems still likely reaching the south east on Thursday. Temperatures are expected to mostly be below normal edging toward average or just above into the new week. Through the weekend and into the new week a build of pressure will probably occur, meaning more in the way of dry weather across the UK as a whole. Some rain of light showers will still be possible at times, if these develop they will be more likely to affect the northwest.

Towards the end of April, high pressure will probably be close to the UK with a good deal of dry weather for many areas. Moving into May, these settled conditions will probably move northwards, with the driest weather across the northwest of the UK. If any more unsettled conditions develop these are more likely to affect south with a risk of some heavy rain or showers. Temperatures will probably be close to average overall, with warm days but some colder nights.
